and now we'll see you in the playoffs.
THIS is what we needed to add to our defense. |

I hate this move!
Grrrrrr it made the Islanders better. Barring major injuries they will make the playoffs.

Nice pick up, Bruins should have traded Chara, not a good long term move for them - HankdaTank
chara is awesome but you are right. boychuck has a lot of years left in him as chara does not. i really did not think they would trade boychuck. great pick up by the isles

good pick up, now lets see how halak can do. good regular season with the blues and maybe better facing more shots. hope he can stay healthy for you guys in the playoffs(something he failed to do in st Louis) |

this is why we also have chad johnson.
there's no denying this lineup for the Isles is a substantial leap forward over last year. If reinhart or pulock develop and if dehaan stays healthy our defense is definitely passable for a playoff team.

An interesting article could come from this ..
Who on your team will you trade for two seconds and a third?
Being of course realistic not just stating your teams dead weight . |

Excellent, excellent Add by the Isles. John Snow had an off season for thr ages, IMO, and didn't have to go out and offer a 60 million dollar UFA contract to do it either.

Sucks to have to move Boychuk but two 2nds and a 3rd isn't a bad return for a team that didn't have much choice. I also think Boychuk looks less stellar playing for the Isle than with the Bruins. Chara was never going anywhere so I think its a pretty fair for both teams. |

i am buying tickets for the December 11th game against my blues. its my bday the next game. isles are a good young team lead by a good player. it should be fun. hope the isles make it far in the playoffs as i expect them to make it. when is the move to the Bronx?

Johnson will be a good improvement and having that tandem the goalie situation should be rock solid

good long-term move. They likely didn't want to sign him another contract, so better to move him for assets now than lose him for nothing. |

True, but shouldn't they be going for it? I will shake my head if they that same price for a less valuable rental at the deadline. |
